In the FIELD
The search for quality begins in the field with the selection of
only the best Croatina grape vines. These are short-pruned and subjected
to an extremely frugal fertilizing treatment; grass is grown in-between
and under the vinerows to keep production in check. Weeding operations
in winter and pruning operations in summer complete the process.
Grape production per hectare is 85 quintals. Thinning - the removal
of less promising bunches of grapes in the period leading up to
the grape harvest - is a vitally important operation; after this
manual harvesting takes place. |
